Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 September 2026
The agreement between you and EDUQIVA when you use this platform or take a class.
1. Who these terms cover
These terms apply to everyone who uses EDUQIVA: students, parents and guardians, teachers, sponsors and visitors. By registering for an account, enrolling in a class, applying to teach, or sponsoring a class, you agree to them.
If you are agreeing on behalf of an organization — a sponsoring company, for example — you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization.
2. What EDUQIVA is
EDUQIVA provides live, online classes taught by real teachers, delivered over Microsoft Teams. Classes are provided at no cost to students. They are funded by sponsors, who fund a class rather than an individual student.
EDUQIVA is a for-profit company, not a registered charity. Sponsorship is not a tax-deductible charitable donation.
Because classes are free, EDUQIVA does not take payment from students and will never ask a student for card or bank details. If you receive a message claiming to be from EDUQIVA and asking a student to pay, it did not come from us — please report it to hello@eduqiva.com.
3. Age requirements
Anyone aged 18 or over may register for an account and enrol themselves in classes.
A student aged 13 to 17 cannot hold an account. A parent or legal guardian must register, apply on the student’s behalf, and sign a consent form before the student can be enrolled. The account remains the guardian’s, and EDUQIVA reviews each of these applications individually.
EDUQIVA does not accept students under 13, and our systems refuse to create such a record. If you believe a child under 13 has been registered with us, contact hello@eduqiva.com and we will delete the information.
4. Your account
You agree to give accurate information when you register and to keep it up to date. One person, one account: accounts are personal and must not be shared or transferred.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. Every EDUQIVA account is required to use two-step sign-in with an authenticator app.
You may close your account at any time from your account page. Closing it keeps your enrolment history so that there is a record of the classes you attended; you may instead ask us to erase your personal details, and we will do so except where we are required to keep a record. See the Privacy Policy.
5. Enrolling in a class
When you take a place in a class, your place is confirmed immediately — there is no waiting list and no approval step. We send the joining link to the email address on your account before the first session.
Joining links are personal to you. Please do not forward or publish them.
We will make reasonable efforts to run classes as scheduled, but EDUQIVA may change, reschedule or cancel a class or an individual session — because a teacher is unavailable, a class does not attract enough students, or for any other operational reason. We will tell you as far in advance as we reasonably can. Because classes are free, no refund arises.
EDUQIVA may record attendance. We do not record the classes themselves.
6. How to behave in class
Everyone using EDUQIVA agrees to treat other students, teachers and staff with respect. You must not:
- harass, bully, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
- share content that is unlawful, obscene, or harmful to other participants;
- disrupt a class or prevent others from taking part;
- as a teacher, attempt to contact a student privately outside the channels EDUQIVA provides;
- impersonate anyone, or give false information when registering or applying;
- attempt to reach accounts, systems or data that are not yours;
- copy, resell or redistribute class materials outside your own personal study.
EDUQIVA may suspend or close an account, and remove someone from a class, where we reasonably believe this section has been broken or that a student, teacher or member of staff is at risk. Where a suspension is under investigation we may not be able to give the reason while it is ongoing.
7. Teachers
Teachers apply, are assessed by EDUQIVA, and sign a teaching agreement before being placed with students. Teachers who work with students under 18 additionally complete identity verification and a background check, and cannot be assigned to a class for under-18s until both are passed and current.
Teachers are engaged under their own agreement with EDUQIVA, which nothing on this page overrides.
8. Sponsors
A sponsor funds the delivery of a class. Sponsorship does not give a sponsor the right to select students, to receive students’ personal information, to advertise to students, or to direct what is taught. Sponsors receive reporting about the classes they fund in aggregate. Separate sponsorship terms apply and are agreed in writing.
9. Content and intellectual property
The EDUQIVA name, logo, platform and class materials belong to EDUQIVA or to the people who licensed them to us. You may use class materials for your own learning. You may not republish, sell or redistribute them.
If you submit content to us — an application, a message, a document, feedback — you keep ownership of it and give EDUQIVA permission to use it for the purpose you submitted it for.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Things we cannot promise
EDUQIVA provides its classes and platform “as is”. We do not guarantee that the platform will always be available or uninterrupted, that a particular class, teacher or schedule will be available, or that taking a class will produce any particular result, qualification or level of attainment.
Classes are delivered over Microsoft Teams, which is operated by Microsoft and not by us. Your own internet connection, device and local conditions affect whether you can take part, and those are outside our control.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EDUQIVA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform or the classes. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Because EDUQIVA classes are provided free of charge, where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the amount you have paid us, which for students is nothing.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as EDUQIVA grows. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell account holders by email and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the new version when you next sign in.
14. Ending your use of EDUQIVA
You may stop using EDUQIVA and close your account at any time. EDUQIVA may end or suspend your access where you have broken these terms, or where we stop offering the service. Sections that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and the courts of San Francisco County, California have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law of your own country gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
